Hi, This website is such a super idea. Another idea to the rain barrels might be garden posts which could perhaps attract a larger target . Mary- Travis made it so we can attach photos now. I love your ideas of the garden posts. Hopefully, the photo will encourage others to join in on this idea.

I saw this and thought it's a cute idea...something to engage kids/families or just those artistic folks. Now the where to put them....that I am not sure of.

Love all these ideas because they can engage so many community members with different interests- if Rain Barrels become a part of the discussion- It is my understanding the Rain Barrels that were a part of a Settlers Days years ago came through Upcycle Products of Morris IL. They can assist with fundraising details if that is of interest-- https://upcycle-products.com/upcycle-factory/ The Land Conservancy of McHenry County was helpful providing this information.

The garden posts came to my mind to broaden the target audience for those not able to utilize a rain barrel. Are the rain barrels a fundraising event? Thank you for asking me about taking the lead. At this time I'm busy with other things. I enjoy helping out here and there when I can.

I see the rain barrels at a 2 part conversation: I added the information about the rain barrels because the thread started out as an idea that came up due to the rain barrel conversation at our meeting. No idea if anyone wants to pursue barrels or posts. Just wanted to provide the detail I had incase anyone needs it-- I believe some people are interested in starting a fundraising event and the garden posts and/or the rain barrels can be options. The determination would be based on who is willing to lead a project. ---Specific to rain barrels- we definitely can use some to support the watering efforts in the gardens at the Police Station and the Main parking lot, but at this time we do not have funds or anyone to lead the effort so my thought is we can pursue that for 2027.
