Indian Oaks Softball Fields

Hi everyone! Is there a way we could coordinate with the park district and/or MUGS (Marengo-Union Girls Softball) to improve the appearance of our softball fields, specifically the dugouts for the players? As a softball parent, it's something that is discussed often amongst families, that they have been in disrepair for a long time. It's also a reflection of our town when we host the games against other towns. It could use new dugout benches, and ideally some day, some sort of shade or covering over the benches like most other towns have. Maybe it's something we could do a fundraiser or sponsorship for and make it an actionable goal for next spring's season? 😊 Thank you all for your time.

Lexy -- I know you asked for contact information. Per the MUGS website, there may be different people worth reaching out to? The president of MUGS is John Kimmel at 815-790-8589. The director of the rec league, and also listed for equipment is Rob Jasinski at 815-762-4033. The person listed for fundraising is Wendi Aubry at 815-793-2090. There is a name for field maintenance which is Bob Dionne, but there is no phone number or email listed for them.

Perfect! Thank you! I’ll reach out to them and the Park District after Day in the Park to see if they have any plans so we don’t overstep and what needs approval. Then we can move forward with coming up with an estimate of cost to then run by the group with all of the other ideas and decide what route we want to go. I will say I’m 100% in to help with building if this project moves forward!
